As a mastering engineer, I excel in finding the best way to get your music sounding the best it possibly can, by using whatever tools it takes to create great sounding, optimised, and balanced tracks ready for distribution.
My approach to mastering is a holistic blend of both new and old school methods, reacting entirely to the needs of the track. I typically adopt a three stage process involving audio correction, enhancement and colouration, and finalised output. This ensures that any issues are dealt with effectively, before moving on to the more nuanced areas of adding subtle flavour and character to the music. The final stage involves setting the desired loudness of the track to ensure it is competitive in real world listening environments, whether that’s a top quality sound system, in the car, through headphones, or in the club.
